LED lamps
Edison's invention, the trusty old light bulb, is starting to lose ground. First to the halogen lamp, then to the energy-saving bulb, and now to the LED lamp. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode , a semiconductor. The LED used to serve as indicator light for all kinds of electronic equipment, but for the past five years, it has also been developed and used for lighting purposes. Its major advantage is its energy efficiency. Significant progress has been made in the past ten years when it comes to LED lamps . This is not surprising, as LED lighting offers higher energy savings compared to "regular" lamps. Moreover, LED lamps have an extremely long lifespan, are cool to the touch, and are extremely safe at low voltage. Currently, LED lamps are also dimmable with a 3-step dimmer via the wall switch.
